Meet The doctors

Dr. J. Courtney Gorman

Doctor Gorman attended Marion High School and graduated in 1979. He then graduated from Indiana University in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. Later that year, he started his dental training at the Indiana University School of Dentistry in Indianapolis. After his sophomore year, he married his beautiful wife Cindy, and they lived in Broad Ripple for the next two years. Doctor Gorman graduated from dental school in 1987, and he was accepted to an orthodontic residency in St. Louis at Washington University. While in St. Louis, Cindy gave birth to their first child, Chelsea, in early ’88. He finished his degree in 1989 and returned to Marion to practice with his father Jack Gorman. During the next two years they traveled to St. Louis every month to teach lingual (behind the teeth) orthodontics to the residents. In 1990, Cindy and Courtney were blessed with the birth of their son Tripp, and a year later their youngest child Grace was born.

In 1998 Doctor Gorman became a Board Certified Orthodontist. Not a required certification, but one that says he took the additional step to have his cases evaluated and judged by a panel of his peers. It was a lot of extra work, but it lets patients know that they are receiving the highest level of care possible. Dr. Gorman loves what he does and would love to sculpt a perfect smile just for you.

Besides his family and orthodontics, Dr. G’s other passions are big mountain skiing, golf, ocean sailing, and fishing. He still teaches once a month at Indiana University’s Orthodontic Department, where he instructs residents in all aspects of orthodontic therapy with an emphasis on Invisalign. This was also where he and Dr. Bunch met.

In her free time, she loves traveling, spending time with family and friends, reading, good food, long walks with her yellow lab Lacey, and all things football.
