Committed to the Community
Our team of orthodontic doctors and staff live in the communities that we serve and remain committed to giving back to the people who bring us so much joy each day. It is in our DNA to give back to the community who supports us.
Throughout the year, we create programs that bring awareness to various causes and foundations in our local community and empower our patients to take action. We also keep a pulse on what’s happening in the lives of our patients. From sporting games and graduations to weddings and new family additions, we love celebrating the accomplishments of our patients.
Meet Our Team of Orthodontic Doctors
Dr. J. Courtney Gorman
Dr. Gorman attended Marion High School and graduated in 1979. He then graduated from Indiana University in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. Later that year, he started his dental training at the Indiana University School of Dentistry in Indianapolis. After his sophomore year, he married his beautiful wife Cindy, and they lived in Broad Ripple for the next two years. Doctor Gorman graduated from dental school in 1987, and he was accepted to an orthodontic residency in St. Louis at Washington University. While in St. Louis, Cindy gave birth to their first child, Chelsea, in early ’88. He finished his degree in 1989 and returned to Marion to practice with his father Jack Gorman. During the next two years they traveled to St. Louis every month to teach lingual (behind the teeth) orthodontics to the residents. In 1990, Cindy and Courtney were blessed with the birth of their son Tripp, and a year later their youngest child Grace was born.
Dr. Gorman loves what he does and would love to sculpt a perfect smile just for you. In 1998, Dr. Gorman became a Board Certified Orthodontist. Not a required certification, but one that says he took the additional step to have his cases evaluated and judged by a panel of his peers. It was a lot of extra work, but it lets patients know that they are receiving the highest level of care possible. In 2001, he became a certified Invisalign provider, specializing in Invisalign treatment ever since. He’s honored to be in the top one percent of North American Invisalign providers.
Besides his family and orthodontics, Dr. G’s other passions are big mountain skiing, golf, ocean sailing, and fishing. He still teaches once a month at Indiana University’s Orthodontic Department, where he instructs residents in all aspects of orthodontic therapy with an emphasis on Invisalign. This was also where he and Dr. Bunch met.

Dr. Yidi Liu
Dr. Yidi (pronounced like ‘Edy,’ the ice cream) believes that every patient possesses a unique smile and should receive customized orthodontic care to allow the natural beauty of their smiles to blossom. After completing her Bachelor of Science in Dentistry education and Pediatric Dentistry residency at Peking University, she moved to California with her family, where she later earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of the Pacific in San Francisco. To further pursue her passion for orthodontic treatment for young patients—developed during her Pediatric Dentistry residency—she underwent orthodontic specialty training and obtained her Master of Science in Dentistry (Orthodontics) from the University of the Pacific, the institute where Invisalign was first developed in the 1990s. During her time there, she had the opportunity to learn clinical techniques from some of the most experienced and innovative Invisalign providers in North America, treating a wide range of challenging cases with Invisalign.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Dr. Yidi enjoys quality time with her husband, Haitong, who serves as an Electrical and Computer Engineering Professor at Purdue University (both proud Boilermaker fans!). Together, they engage in various recreational activities, from board games to Nintendo Switch video games and Quest VR games. Recently, the couple developed a shared interest in transforming their home into a Smart Home with intelligent automations. Dr. Yidi looks forward to welcoming you to the clinic soon!
